Condo Tour

Matt and I purchased our tiny little condo in June 2006. Our plan was to stay there one year while Matt finished up his computer networking degree. We ended up staying there seven years, until October 2013 when we moved into our current house.

Keep scrolling to see before pictures, after pictures, DIY projects, and related posts for each room of the condo.

You didn’t do the living room? And you were working on this and your house at the same time right? Your condo did sell right? It was soo cute!

If you haven’t sold it already, that condo should be snapped up in an instant. The before and after photos show a lot of style and work. Wow!

Hi Kristi, I just found out your creative blog and really love the way you decorate your home! Especially love the kitchen and breakfast room! Never thought of using such colors and they all match so nicely and cozy. I can imagine it’s like having a sumptuous meal in a nice restaurant 🙂

Honest to Pete, had it been me who saw the condo before, I would have NEVER had the creativity to imagine what you conjured up. As a parallel comment, I think the reason I just love your blog to pieces is that ANYone can throw a bunch of money at a house and make it beautiful, but it takes skills like yours to do things within a budget and get such beautiful results.

As a farewell to the condo I just followed the tour here in detail and was again amazed by all the creative projects – big and small – that you achieved there over the time. I got initially drawn to your blog because of the vent cover in the hallway (made from yardsticks!) and I have to say I love every step in your journey of DIY and decorating. Thanks for offering the possibility to follow you!!!

The after pictures are Amazing! You have great ideas to make the most of a small space. I love the paint colors. I am already thinking of changing our paint on our kitchen cabinets. What color did you use?

I lusted after that headboard in your condo’s guest bedroom. Saw it on Overstock. Didn’t work in the space we have. 🙁

    Hi Kristi
I’m new to your site and absolutely LOOOVE everything you do!!!!
You mentioned that Matt has MS, so I thought I’d share this info with you. You may have heard of Dr. Terry Wahls who was diagnosed with MS and then went on a search for treatments. I’m sorry if you’re inundated with advise from well-meaning people…

THE WAHLS PROTOCOL: A RADICAL NEW WAY TO TREAT ALL CHRONIC AUTOIMMUNE CONDITIONS USING PALEO PRINCIPLES BY TERRY WAHLS, M.D. WITH EVE ADAMSON – RELEASED IN PAPERBACK ON DECEMBER 30, 2014
An integrative approach to healing chronic auto-immune conditions by a doctor, researcher, and sufferer of progressive multiple sclerosis whose TEDx talk is already a web sensation.

Like many physicians, Dr. Terry Wahls focused on treating her patients’ ailments with drugs or surgical procedures—until she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2000. Within three years, her back and stomach muscles had weakened to the point where she needed a tilt-recline wheelchair. Conventional medical treatments were failing her, and she feared that she would be bedridden for the rest of her life.

Dr. Wahls began studying the latest research on autoimmune disease and brain biology, and decided to get her vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids from the food she ate rather than pills and supplements. Dr. Wahls adopted the nutrient-rich paleo diet, gradually refining and integrating it into a regimen of neuromuscular stimulation. First, she walked slowly, then steadily, and then she biked eighteen miles in a single day. In November 2011, Dr. Wahls shared her remarkable recovery in a TEDx talk that immediately went viral. Now, in The Wahls Protocol, she shares the details of the protocol that allowed her to reverse many of her symptoms, get back to her life, and embark on a new mission: to share the Wahls Protocol with others suffering from the ravages of multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune conditions.

I wish you both well in these challenging days.

Thanks, Kathie! Yes, we’re very familiar with Dr. Wahls’ program. Matt does kind of a combination of the Wahls protocol, the autoimmune protocol and the ketogenic diet. He has actually seen the most progress using the ketogenic diet with intermittent fasting (22 hours fasting per day, 2 hours for eating) and an extended 72-hour fast per week. Fasting gets the body into something called autophagy, which has been shown to actually regrow nerves, along with speeding up all other kinds of natural healing of the body. He’s pretty excited about it.

I’m SO excited for this great news! :)))
I’m adding you both to my prayer list and will pray for stamina, direction in this healing process, and also for your marriage as I’m sure there are challenges beyond what many of us experience.
May you both see God’s grace moment by moment in each and every day.

        Blessings,

        Kathie
